What is in the set
Sixty ampoules in one tableau, colour coded by element. Five element ampoules, thirty-four meridian ampoules and parts of meridians, five attenuation ampoules, fifteen pink strain ampoules and the Unmask ampoule. The manufacturer’s reference numbers run 5 FC 001 to 5 FC 067; seven numbers in that range are not used, so the set holds sixty.
- 60 ampoules in one tableau
- 5 element ampoules: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood
- 34 meridian ampoules, several meridians split into segments for finer testing
- 5 attenuation ampoules, one per element
- 15 pink strain ampoules pointing to the pathogenic test kits
- 1 Unmask ampoule for reaction-blocked patients
The tableau
Laid out as the manufacturer prints it: the five elements across the top, their meridians running down each column, the attenuation ampoules along the second row from the bottom, and the pink strain ampoules down the right-hand side and along the bottom row.
The pink ampoules are links. Click a pink strain ampoule and it takes you to the test kit it points to. Those with no kit of their own yet are not linked.

The five groups
- The 5 elements. The top row. One ampoule for each functional circuit.
- Meridians and parts of meridians. Arranged below each element. Where a meridian has been divided into segments, for example Bladder into Lower urinary tract / Bladder, Female genitals and Male genitals, each segment has its own ampoule.
- Strain ampoules. Pink, down the right-hand side and along the bottom row. Also used for elimination. These point you to the pathogenic strain test kit in which a patient’s load is likely to be found.
- Attenuation ampoules. Second row from the bottom, one per element.
- Unmask. One ampoule, used before testing on patients who are not responding.
The meridian system behind it
The set follows the five-element structure of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each element is a functional circuit with four meridians assigned to it; the original Chinese meridians are complemented by the meridians of electroacupuncture according to Dr Voll. Within each element the four meridians sit as two pairs, the meridian partners, which share one energy balance and cannot be separated. The upper meridian in each pair is Yang, the lower is Yin.

Heart (Yin)
Nervous system (Yin)
Metabolism (Yin)
Skin (Yin)
Connective Tissue (Yin)

Lymph (Yin)
Joints (Yin)
Lipometabolism (Yin)
For testing the elements by electroacupuncture the manufacturer recommends Small Intestine for Fire, Spleen/Pancreas for Earth, Large Intestine for Metal, Lymph for Water and Liver for Wood.
The reasoning the manufacturer sets out is this. Each meridian supplies an organ. When one meridian’s self-regulation is disturbed, its partner supplies energy first; if that is not enough, the other two meridians in the element are drawn on, and in the worst case the whole element decompensates. Not every disturbed meridian produces symptoms, which is why testing at this level can show which meridians are blocked before anything is felt. The five-element test gives a structured way to find them and to decide where therapy should begin.
What this kit is for
Two uses, according to the manufacturer. At the start of a session, as a quick screen to find a patient’s main strains and get an idea of which pathogenic test kit the load is likely to sit in. And, with a difficult patient, as a differentiated test that works through the energetic relationships step by step: which elements are disturbed, which elements support them, which meridians are involved, which element has priority for treatment, and which strains are found in it.
The manufacturer recommends the seminar “BICOM Combined Test Technique” for anyone wanting to understand these relationships fully.
How it is tested
The ampoule under test goes in the input cup of the BICOM® device (or a honeycomb, a grasping electrode or the infrared transmitter) as a therapeutic impulse, and what is tested is the patient’s response to it. Every step on this set is tested in therapy mode A, program 192 with a 3 second frequency sweep at 10 times amplification, or alternatively program 198 with an amplification sweep. Testing can be done with the tensor, by kinesiology or by EAP.
| Method | Output side | Device setting | A positive result is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tensor | Hand plate held vertically, brass side to the patient, or test between the patient and the modulation mat; the Tensor Test Aid is recommended from step 2 onwards | Program 192 (A); ON and START | Resonance, a horizontal swing |
| Kinesiology | A cylindrical hand electrode in one hand, or the modulation mat | Program 192 (A); ON and START | A strong muscle test |
| EAP | Patient holds the cylindrical hand electrode; the stylus tests a meridian point of the element | Program 192 (A); ON, START and Output Test | A reading that improves towards 50, or by two increments towards 50 |
The manufacturer’s recommended route is the tensor technique as slightly modified by Dr Rohrer, which also underlies the automatic mode in CTT digital. The six steps below are that route. From step 2 onwards the test is a joint resonance: the ampoule in the input cup sits at 10 times amplification through program 192, while the ampoule under the grasping electrode, cabled to the tensor, sits at 1 times.
| Step | What it answers | In the input | Tensor connected to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Which elements are disturbed? Each of the five element ampoules is tested in turn. | The element ampoule being tested | Nothing (black cable to the grasping electrode) |
| 2 | Which elements support the disturbed one? The remaining four element ampoules are tested against it. | The element ampoule that tested positive in step 1 | Grasping electrode holding each of the other element ampoules |
| 3 | Which meridians within that element are involved? | The same element ampoule | Grasping electrode holding each meridian ampoule of that element |
| 4 | Where several elements tested positive, which has priority? Each is tested against the others. Skipped when only one element was found. | One positive element ampoule | Grasping electrode holding another positive element ampoule |
| 5 | Which pink strain ampoule resonates with the priority element? This points to the pathogenic test kit to go to next. | The priority element ampoule plus each strain ampoule in turn | Nothing (black cable to the grasping electrode) |
| 6 | Which attenuation ampoules are needed? Usually tested after the stabilising therapy, as the picture often changes. | Each attenuation ampoule in turn | Nothing (black cable to the grasping electrode) |
If none of the five element ampoules tests positive in step 1, there is no decompensation at the top level and you test only the disturbed meridians and their strains. An element that takes energy from others always has treatment priority; elements that give energy away may produce the symptoms, and need treating, but come later in the plan.
Reaction-blocked patients. Before testing, the Unmask ampoule can be run for 3 minutes on program 192: Unmask in the input cup, no input electrode, a cylindrical electrode in each hand on the red cable, with or without the modulation mat. Then test the full set. The same Unmask step can precede testing with other CTT kits.
In CTT digital
Automatic mode carries out steps 1 to 5 for you: step 1 with the ampoule in channel 1; steps 2 to 4 with the positive element in channel 1 at 10 times amplification and the ampoule under test in channel 2 at 1 times; step 5 with element and strain ampoule together in channel 1. Automatic mode can only test two elements against each other for priority, so with three or more disturbed elements use “Test single substance” or test mentally. Step 6, the attenuation ampoules, and the final therapy combination are tested outside automatic mode with “Test single substance”. The Tensor Test Aid or the modulation mat is recommended from step 2, because channel 2 is involved from there.
Therapy
For therapy the priority element ampoule (or meridian ampoules if no element was found in step 1) and the pink strain ampoule(s) found in step 5 are placed together in the input and tested on program 192; their common resonance is what is used for treatment. The manufacturer’s sequence runs as follows, with amplification and time tested at every step rather than assumed.
| Step | Patient connection | Input cup | Program |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Basic therapy | Input and output | Patient secretions or excretions where used | Basic program |
| 2. Follow-up programs | Input and output | As above | Therapy blocks, elimination organs, meridian or indication programs |
| 3. Pathogenic strains | Output only | Tested ampoule(s) from the pathogenic strain kits | Ai, 191 or 197 |
| 4. Elimination | Output only | Tested ampoule(s) from the pathogenic strain kits | A, 192 or 198 |
| 5. Stabilising | Output only | Priority element, its meridian ampoule(s) and the pink strain ampoule(s) found in step 5 | A, 192 or 198 |
| 6. Attenuation | Output only | The attenuation ampoules that tested positive, re-tested after step 5 | A |
The manufacturer notes that the first tested priority element or meridian, combined with the pink strain ampoules, has proved useful as the final stabilising step, and that the therapy information can also be transferred to BICOM chips, oil or minerals.
Working with other sets
This is the starting point of a CTT test sequence rather than a set used on its own. Step 5 leads directly into the pathogenic strain kits, and the stabilising step at the end of therapy comes back to this set for the priority element and meridian ampoules. The other test kit pages on this site refer to it for that reason.
On the ampoule names
The names listed are the manufacturer’s own ampoule labels, published so that the contents of the set are accurate and complete. They are not statements by this shop.
Nothing on this page is a claim that this kit prevents, detects, treats or reverses any condition, or that it is an alternative to medical care. Anyone with a medical concern should speak to a doctor.
Before you order
- BICOM® multisoft pilot. Required for the digitised set. Automatic mode does not set the therapy mode for you: the manufacturer is explicit that it has to be checked and set by hand for each new test kit.
- A BICOM® device. Tested and used as a CTT set.
- Trained practitioners. Supplied for use by practitioners trained in the BICOM® method. The Combined Test Technique seminar is the manufacturer’s recommended preparation.
Ampoule names, layout and test procedure are drawn from the manufacturer’s product documentation for the 5 Functional Circuits test kit (Regumed). We make no claim as to therapeutic effect.
