Irritable bowel syndrome (colon irritabile) is a diffuse functional bowel disorder with cramp-like abdominal complaints, painful flatulence and alternating constipation and diarrhoea.
The symptoms usually last for more than 3 months and can have a considerable impact on the quality of life. In western industrialised countries, 7-25 % of the population is affected, with women being affected twice as often as men.
A distinction is made depending on the symptoms:
- IBS-D: irritable bowel syndrome with leading diarrhoea
- RDS-O: irritable bowel syndrome with leading constipation
- RDS-S: irritable bowel syndrome with leading pain
- RDS-M: irritable bowel syndrome with leading meteorism
Conventional diagnosis is often made by excluding other diseases, as little is known about the causes and risk factors in conventional medicine.
Anamnesis
In energetic diagnostics with the BICOM bioresonance method, we first begin with a detailed anamnesis. Here, in addition to the current complaints, the patient’s life circumstances at the beginning of the complaints should also be recorded:
- When did it all start, and
- in which life situation did you find yourself at that time?
Are there triggers:
- Medications, vaccinations, stress, infections, etc.?
- Are there accompanying symptoms?
- What worsens or improves the symptoms?
During the anamnesis and the subsequent physical examination, the dental status should also be recorded.
Of particular interest here are fillings, implants, missing teeth, root-dead teeth. Especially in the tooth compartments 4/5 on both sides in the upper jaw area as well as in the tooth compartments 6/7 on both sides in the lower jaw area. These teeth are associated with the element metal and thus with the large intestine. However, depending on the symptoms, other teeth can also be the cause of the complaints from an energetic point of view.
Testing energetic blockages
The next step is to test energetic blockages:
- Vertebral blockages, jaw joint, scars,
- geopathic and radiation stress,
- vaccinations, medications and
- blockages of the metabolism or the acid/base balance.
Besides energetic testing directly on the patient (tensor testing, kinesiology), programmes can also be tested for resonance and then used in therapy. The same procedure is used for testing the organs of elimination.

The large intestine is assigned to the element metal, therefore a resonance is usually found here during testing. But the element earth can also resonate, as the stomach, spleen and pancreas are assigned to this element and metabolic problems are often found here.

Other triggering factors
Other triggering factors are to be tested with the help of the test kits from KTT and / or ETT:
- Diet: intolerances or allergies to wheat, gluten, yeast, milk (casein), lactose, sugar, soy, salicylic acid, histamine, etc. (KTT test set: “allergic stresses”)
- Environmental factors/chemical exposures: pseudo-allergy due to E-substance rich diet (flavour enhancers, sweeteners, preservatives etc.), insecticides, pesticides, fungicides etc. in food or environment. (KTT test kits: “E-substances” and “parasites/environmental pollution”)
- Stress: due to family, occupational or other stresses.
- Previous illnesses: infections, stressful information from parasites, bacteria, fungi or viruses (leaky gut syndrome; fibromyalgia syndrome, functional dyspepsia, chronic fatigue syndrome, after chemotherapy or radiotherapy). Based on the blockages and stressful information found, a therapeutic scheme is compiled from this and sensible combinations of the tested ampoules are formed for efficient therapy.
It is important to give the patient appropriate nutritional recommendations. The accompanying nutritional recommendations result from the testing of the intolerances and allergies and can be supplemented by general, sensible nutritional advice, e.g. from TCM or Ayurvedic nutrition.
