The stomach meridian belongs to the YANG meridians. One branch starts under the eye socket, the other at the forehead. They unite at the corner of the mouth and then continue over the neck, rib cage and abdomen to the outside of the leg and end at the outer nail angle of the second toe. Its partner is the spleen/pancreas meridian. Both meridians belong to the element earth.
The element earth is referred to as the “centre” in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is the centre of Qi (energy). In addition to the organs, stomach, spleen and pancreas, the element earth also includes the “flesh” (Pischinger basic system). In the CTT test kit “5 functional circuits (5 elements)”, the nervous system and metabolism are also assigned through Dr Voll’s findings from electroacupuncture.
“Dampness” is the main influence that can lead to diseases in the element earth. Dampness is a YIN factor, it damages the YANG and blocks the flow of Qi and blood, resulting in a slowdown in the flow of energy and blood and thus stagnation. Dampness is caused by unprocessed body fluids (jin ye), which remain and no longer participate in the metabolism. They lead to oedema in the extremities and under the eyes and also to dull pain and stiffness in joints.
The spleen/pancreas and stomach meridian are the root of blood formation and thus supply all other organs with blood and energy. Both are closely related to metabolism, food intake and digestion.
Thinking is a manifestation of the Earth’s Qi. Worry and brooding can lead to energetic stagnation. In TCM, it is said that “worries knot the Qi”. This also includes letting go of experiences, old thoughts about emotional injuries from the past or unfulfilled hopes, as well as fears and anxieties for the future (“mental constipation”).
This circling of thoughts and also excessive and unproductive thinking overwhelm the spleen, which then reacts with “sticky” wetness (dampness), which in turn can lead to digestive disorders.

The patient’s own information is used in the input area of the BICOM device. You can do a meridian flooding with these meridian programs with the meridian start and end points. To do this, please look for the beginning (St 1) and end points (St 45) of the stomach meridian on both sides of the body. You can find a description of these points in your program manual or an acupuncture atlas. Use one of the meridian programs after energetic testing.
- Input cup: sputum or blood
- Input applicators: one button applicator or adhesive applicators on St 45 bds.
- Output applicators: one Goldfinger or adhesive applicators each on St 1 bds.
If stagnation has formed in the meridian
- 1) Release blockage (deep-lying) program 3017.0, alternatively program 918.0.
- 2) Program selection from stomach meridian programs (see above). First of all, the structure and applicator system are identical to those of the flooding above, but then:
- 3) Replace input and output. This means input applicators on the starting point (St 1) and output applicators on the end point (St 45).
In this case, the actual meridian program runs through twice.
