The small intestine meridian is a YANG meridian. In dogs, the small intestine meridian begins at the outer claw fold (or outside of the hoof for horses) and runs from there to point SI 3, an important key point (MO point) for the Governor vessel (GV). In this respect, it also has an important significance in relation to the extraordinary meridians.
On the outside of the forelimb, it then continues over the elbow and from there pulls over the shoulder blade, along the neck, and then over the angle of the jaw to its endpoint in front of the ear (SI 19).
With its internal course, it connects the organs: small intestine, stomach, spleen/pancreas and the heart.
The small intestine meridian belongs to the element of fire and has the heart meridian as a YIN partner. In Chinese medicine, it is described as follows: “The small intestine is responsible for receiving fullness (abundance) and transforming all things. It separates the clear from the cloudy and is the palace of the heart.”
Indications
- Digestive problems (diarrhoea, watery faeces, colic)
- Abdominal complaints without objectifiable findings
Diseases in the course of the meridian:
- Pain in the dorsal shoulder and elbow area and in the forelimb area (especially SI 9, 10, 11, 13)
- Tendinomuscular complaints
- Neck pain, stiffness of the neck
- Neuralgia, paraesthesia (SI 3)
- Epilepsy, spasms, paw spasm
- Promotion of milk flow after birth giving (SI 1), mastitis (SI 2, SI 3))
- Colds. Pharyngitis, laryngitis
- Corneal opacity (SI 2), visual disturbances, conjunctivitis
- “Calming of the mind” (SI 7 and SI 8)
- Deafness (Dü SI “Palace of Hearing”)

The patient’s own information is used in the input area of the BICOM device. You can do a meridian flooding with these meridian programs with the meridian start and end points. To do this, please look for the beginning (SI 1) and end points (SI 19) of the small intestine meridian on both sides of the body. You can find a description of these points in your program manual or an acupuncture atlas. Use one of the meridian programs after energetic testing.
- Input cup: sputum or blood
- Input applicators: one button applicator or adhesive applicators on SI 19 bds.
- Output applicators: one gold finger each or adhesive applicators on SI 1 bds.
If stagnation has formed in the meridian
- 1.) Release blockage (deep-lying) program 3017.0, alternatively program 918.0.
- 2.) Program selection from small intestine meridian programs (see above). First of all, the structure and applicator system are identical to those of the flooding above, but then:
- 3.) Replace input and output. This means input applicators on the starting point (SI 1) and output applicators on the end point (SI 19).
In this case, the actual meridian program runs through twice.
In addition, the ampoule “Small Intestine Meridian” from the “5 functional circuits (Elements) Test kit” can also be used in the second channel for both therapies.
